[Outfit Post] ; Dolphins, Raffles and Marshmallow Stacks

The rainy season is here again, so that means only one thing: Sweather! (Sweater - weather, got it? LOL!) And while I badly wanted to go out clad in furs and knits once again and have a cup of hot tea, weather wasn't permitting. It could have been fine if it were only a harmless drizzle. But at the moment, we have three typhoons inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. That bad, yep. The floods also are starting to make a comeback so all the more reason to just stay at home, charge gadgets and pray! Hard!

So anyway, John and I went to the Travel Madness Expo 2015 last Sunday, held at the SMX Convention Halls 1-4 at the SM Mall of Asia. It was a three-day event, which, unfortunately for me, the only day off I had then was the last day, so I bade goodbye to all the best deals. All I got were tons of brochures from various Travel Agencies and Airlines, photo-ops with dancing dolphin mascots and robots, and a mini heart attack at the raffle draw. I've always thought I was lucky with raffles because I frequently get picked. Just when I badly needed to win, I did not!!! The event had a Php 3K cut (discount) for any chosen destination and they selected 30 winners. Should the winner fail to come up at the stage within 3 minutes, his/her win is forfeited. I believe there were more or less 30 to 40 forfeited slots and the host had to re-pick entries to cover the 30 winning slots. And we still DID NOT GET CALLED. WHY!!! Lol Just kidding. So here's my super laid back and comfortable OOTD at the event:

[Outfit Post]: Advance Happy New Year!!

Good day everyone! Today is December 31 already here in the Philippines and we are just a few hours away from welcoming the year 2014. It is quite surprising, in a good way though, that I very seldom hear firecrackers in our neighborhood lately. Normally you would hear super loud "ka-BOOM!!" and "BLAAM!!" right after Christmas, at every corner of the streets. It's really quiet today hmm.. I liked it! Lol

So anyway, this was what I wore yesterday. I anticipated that the malls would still be crowded and hot for that matter, so good thing I opted to wear something breezy and comfortable, and of course, colorful! The typical Fabulous Geek-kinda outfit ;p Oh my gosh, this makes it my last #OOTD for 2013!

Today, I turned 27 years old. Too many things come into mind, one trying to be more important than the other. At times I feel I have exhausted myself too much from thinking about my life, evaluating, judging, concluding. But today, I resolve to take a deep breath, exhale and rest. I will be happy today. Today is my day and I will enjoy it :-)

[Style Files] : Albert Velasco x Men's Fashion

Truth be told, I am somehow indifferent with Men's Fashion. Except, of course, with my boyfriend's style as I wish him to look at his best whenever we go out. Other than that, I do not give much attention to what they wear. If one looks good and decent, I believe one glance and an acknowledgement should suffice. 

Last weekend though, one of my closest friends wanted to create a LookBook profile out of the blue. I believed it was a good idea as I am completely aware that he is one style-maniac as I am. I therefore encouraged him to do a brief outfit shoot in the office during our afternoon break. Kindly scroll down and check out the photos :)

From my Pseudo-stylish perspective, I say his style is Street Lax. He is always on denim pants and loafers, matched with a statement Tee and a branded bag. His signature day-to-night style staples likewise comprises of a watch and a leather cuff. I say, whatever ensemble he has on, it definitely looks comfortable, subtle but still screams "Style". I believe he is one of the most fashionable men in our office. *wink*

It was funny how he kept saying he was nervous and shy prior to the sudden shoot, but he was able to nail these signature blogger poses in one go! I think I'm seeing another future style blogger here :) What do you think?

My 1st Year Anniversary Post: I Believe In Magic ♥♥♥

365 Days had gone by for this humble blog and with all honesty, it had been a tedious journey for The Fabulous Geek. I started blogging when I was in College. It was my online diary which was purely about studies, love life, friendship, movies and other what-nots which, I dare say, was very sentimental and thinking about it now, I would say it was overrated. I was taking AB Literature then, and I thought I was a good enough writer and my pride required an avenue in which I could vent out all my feelings creatively. Not. lol Seriously though, I had fully understood that I wanted to blog, but to blog about something I really am passionate about. I did not know what it was I really wanted back then, unfortunately, hence I allowed months, years, immeasurable time to go by without me really knowing what to do. Probably I did, but I was afraid to try. I have long been wanting to share my personal style through a blog, but I was timid, frightened what people would think about me. I had too many worries. I had too many questions: "what if they didn't like my style? What if I was the only one assuming that I'm fashionable?" etc etc. I let this anxiety get the better of me.

365 days ago, was a realization for me. I felt sorry that I did not even try. Nonetheless, nothing is ever too late, I kept that in mind. I have a lot of clothes and I felt good and beautiful whenever I wore them. Why should I even bother if nobody ever liked the way I dressed up? I knew I should do this otherwise, I will let another lifetime roll by and regret that I did not. So here I am now, trying to squish into the fashion blogosphere. 365 days back, I was a newbie and I knew and I got nothing, except my passion and my personal style. I know I will be walking, running, and chasing the ribbon mile highway before my blog somehow attracts readers from all parts of the globe. It was quite a long wait, but somehow I knew, it would be all worth it.

I researched, I explored, I discovered, and I realized that everyone from around the world have different tastes and styles and are very bold! Everyone dared, everyone defied what used to be the norms in the fashion world. Everyone was all for color blocking and print on prints, and heelless shoes and spiked tops. Everyone is free and happy and the world was more colorful and lively than ever. Everything was fiercer than I had known it to be. But then again, this was what I was made for. I was never a part of the mainstream society. Like these fashionistas, I had always been the different girl among the black and white crowd. I had people's questioning eyes on me. "Why is she wearing pink with mint green? Or yellow with orange? Why is she wearing prints everywhere?" They all questioned, and I didn't care. I was happy being the bold and the bright and the colorful.

I knew I did something right, and that this is where I belong: A realm of fashion where the only rule is No Holds Barred. I am here, and loving it!
